I remember thinking, There is something really wrong with how society treats girls. When I started to realize how bad it is, I put some images together about my first thoughts and feelings.

There is a lot of comparing that goes on, to discredit us for having feelings. Like saying, Your problems are first-world problems—meaning that other people have it much worse. As I've traveled through life, my honest experience is that almost all girls and women have it bad. Wealth or country doesn't make much difference.

I am not here to theorize about it, I am here to document it.

I hope that by seeing my images and reading my words, you'll realize two things:

1. It's not your fault. This didn't happen to you because you are particularly bad or unworthy. Billions of women and girls are going through this.

2. We have to fix this. This is not okay. Beautiful people are being destroyed, basically by not caring.
